The Master National Retriever Club is returning to Roseburg this year for the 2022 AKC Master National Hunting Test competition. The local retriever club, Umpqua Valley Retriever Club, is serving as the Host Club, as they did in 2018. The event is an opportunity for some of the most talented AKC Master Hunter Titled Retrievers to showcase their skills and abilities in a simulated hunting environment. Together with their handlers, amateurs and professionals, the dogs will be challenged on their innate abilities as hunting companions as well as their intelligence and application of learned skills. The event stretches over a 8-9 day period. Due to the 600+ canine teams expected, the event is being held on six different properties throughout Douglas County. Two of the properties have been designated as open to the public for viewing and we welcome the community support. The Strader Ranch in Glide, OR is one location and the other is the Lynch Ranch on Quail Lane in Roseburg, OR. If you would like to view some of the most talented hunting dogs at work, please come and join the fun. We do ask that you wear dark or camouflage clothing, bring your own camping style chair, and please leave your personal furry friends home so as not to distract the working dogs/competitors. There will be no food/beverage service on site. Most important, there will be NO SMOKING permitted outside of your personal vehicles when on event property. No alcoholic beverages or drugs will be permitted either. There's still plenty of fun to be had!! Hope to see you all there!!
