About
Let the ghosts of Roseburg come alive this fall during a local fundraising event held just before Halloween.
The Optimist Club of Roseburg is teaming up with Roseburg resident Jennifer Grafiada, owner of TimberTown Media, and paranormal investigator Amanda Valderown to offer super-charged variations of “The Ghosts of Roseburg Past” self-guided walking tours Grafiada launched in 2022.
Two VIP tours guided by Valderown, a “multidimensional medium and spiritual navigator,” will be offered at 5 and 7:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, for $53 per person. Those 10-person tours start with a limousine ride to a nearby cemetery. The limo will return each group downtown for a walking tour along leaf-covered streets and into local businesses restless spirits are said to haunt. VIP tours end with ghost stories and hors d’oeuvres at The Parrott House, and are only open to those 13 and older.
Four tours for 15 people each are offered Saturday, Oct. 12, starting with the only family friendly tour allowing children aged 12 or younger at 5 p.m., followed by tours at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. Those tours cost $12 for kids 12 and under, and $27 for those 13 and older. These tours will leave from the Courthouse and journey to various haunted and historic sites, joining Valderown at a special location and enjoying more ghost stories and hors d’oeuvres at F n B or North Forty Beer Company.
All proceeds raised will support the Optimist Club’s youth programs, including “Chalk Art in the Park,” school snack packs, school hygiene kits, and the club’s Safety Day Program for schools.
