UVA's Bird Field Trip @ Cooper Creek Reservoir

About

UVA's Bird Field Trip

Saturday, December 14th | 9am @ Cooper Creek Reservoir

This bird field trip will be led by Lucas Lile. If you have been to one of our Ford’s Pond bird field trips, you have met him.  Lucas wants to focus on seeing passerines (perching birds). This trip will involve driving to different spots at Cooper Creek Reservoir and getting out at each spot to walk and bird.

Meet: 9 am at the Main (west side) Boat Launch parking lot at: 491 Edgewater Dr., Sutherlin. This bird field trip will be approximately 2-3 hours long. Participants can leave when they need to.

Directions: From I-5, drive east on Central Ave/Nonpareil Rd. Turn right on Southside Rd (sign for reservoir), left on Cooper Creek Rd. At the juncture with Edgewater Dr., continue right on Edgewater Dr. that takes you to the West Boat launch parking lot.

Additional Info: People new to birding are always welcome to join in, as are families with children.  Loaner binoculars are available for adults and children.

Physical Conditions: We will be walking off of the paved parking lots where we can encounter some inclines/declines, some rocks and some roots and mud.

Restrooms: Are at the West side boat launch (meeting place) and at the East side boat launch on Cooper Creek Rd.
