Roseburg in October is a sight not to be missed. Sunny and crisp days are accompanied by gold, amber and chocolate hues in the leaves as well as in our pint glasses. While locals and visitors embrace the colorful landscape, cooler weather and plentiful harvest, beer lovers also anticipate shifting taps over to darker, richer brews.

Come spend an autumn weekend in the Umpqua Valley to not only take in the gorgeous scenery, but also take down a frothy, fall-spirited beer from one of our several local breweries. Here are just a few fresh favorites to pair with a light sweater on your next visit to Roseburg.

NORTH FORTY BEER COMPANY | 435 SE Jackson Street, Roseburg
Fest of the Furious: 6.5 percent and 26 IBUs. The Fest and the Furious is a Festbier (also known as Oktoberfestbier) which is a German-style of low fermentation beer. The Fest of the Furious boasts a beautiful, copper color and has a nice sweetness paired with the perfect amount of hops. A nice drink for warm or cool weather – whatever the fall day brings.

DRAPER BREWING | 640 SE Jackson Street, Roseburg
Blabaer: A 7.0 percent barrel-aged wild ale. This mixed culture Saison is aged for three years in American oak barrels. Then it's refermented for 10 weeks with locally-grown Duke blueberries sourced from the Melrose Valley. Naturally carbonated, the Blabaer is an extremely fruit-forward beer with a unique effervescence and dryness, and a great showcase of local agriculture.

Using all European-sourced grains and following the reinheitsgebot (a series of regulations limiting the ingredients for beer in Germany), this is a beautiful, caramel-colored, malty and light lager. Prost!
