Begin your local food adventure in Downtown Roseburg at Jackson Street Provisions to grab some snacks, beverages and pre-made meals for later. Then make your way south to Canyonville and Pioneer Park to learn about the Applegate Trail, a mid-19th century alternative to westernmost part of the Oregon Trail. Continue along the historic route to detour for fresh-baked confections at Happy Donut.
More history awaits at Millsite Park, where interpretive kiosks shed light on the incredible emigrant journey and historic wagon ruts remain less than a quarter mile away. Over in Winston, stop at Brosi’s Sugartree Farms for a sweet snack at their farm stand before heading over to Wildlife Safari for some family fun. This animal park offers a drive-through experience and is one of the top cheetah breeding research centers on Earth. Then sample of some of the warm weather wines from Abacela in their European inspired tasting room.
