The Experience Roseburg Mural Project started in 2021 and aimed to promote downtown Roseburg and its public art. Artists were selected for their regional and broad appeal. This mural project goes beyond adding vibrant public art to Roseburg’s downtown; it invites visitors and locals alike to spend more time exploring the area. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll around downtown between shopping or dining to appreciate the murals. If you’re interested in seeing all the murals, we’ve created a walking tour, but you can certainly view them in any order and at your own pace.

The first mural on the walking tour is the “State Farm” mural by Oliver Casillas. This piece injects a bold pop of color into downtown. The art depicts a serene nature scene featuring a white-tailed deer drinking from a stream and a swimming steelhead, reminiscent of the tranquil beauty found in the Umpqua National Forest. Location: 1071 SE Washington Ave.

Just around the corner is the “Old Soul Pizza” mural by Forest Wolf Kell. This artwork captures the playful and community-focused spirit of Old Soul Pizza and Downtown Roseburg. It highlights the rugged beauty of rural areas like Roseburg. Location: 525 SE Main St.

A short walk down Jackson Street leads to the “North Forty Beer Co.” mural by Rather Severe (Jon Stommel & Travis Czekalski). This lush, vertically flowing mural is brimming with native Oregon plants, including ghost pipe, Douglas fir, skunk cabbage, moss, and mushrooms. The design evokes an enchanted Oregon forest scene, celebrating organic growth and optimism. Location: 435 SE Jackson St.

Continuing down Jackson Street, you’ll find the largest mural in Roseburg, “Notice Beauty” (also known as the “Caro Building” mural) by Katie Daisy & Karen Eland. This expansive woodland mural invites viewers to slow down and appreciate the rich plant and wildlife diversity of the Umpqua region. Featuring motifs like Western tanager, foxglove, trillium, mushrooms, swallowtail butterfly, and snowdrop, the mural is arranged around Toketee Falls. This collaboration delivers a botanical celebration with expressive illustration and realistic detail. Location: 506 SE Jackson St.

Further down Jackson Street, in the alleyway leading to the parking garage, you’ll find the first piece painted for the mural project, “The Wine Destination” mural by Raymond Argumedo (Gramercy Art Company). Completed on August 12, 2022, this Art Nouveau-inspired mural titled “Daughter of Earth” blends celestial motifs with Pacific Northwest nature. Raymond Argumedo fuses mythological elements, cosmic imagery, and regional flora to create a visual narrative that bridges imagination and place. Location: 526 SE Jackson St.

Continue your stroll downtown and head towards the next artwork, “Grand Apartments” mural by Hannah Eddy. This mural adds a burst of architectural vibrancy to the Grand Apartments.
